What Makes Us Great

Mission Statement

The mission of Central High School is to holistically strengthen the domains of learning for every student so they may become productive citizens and lifelong learners. We are committed to developing inquisitive thinkers and problem solvers who demonstrate critical thinking skills while working both independently and collaboratively throughout the educational process. Central High School is dedicated to providing a safe, nurturing learning environment that cultivates achievement, confidence, and success for all students.

Our Beliefs

At Central High School, we believe:

  • Student learning is our highest priority.

  • Students’ learning needs should guide all decisions that impact the work of the school.

  • A commitment to continuous improvement is essential to helping students become confident, self-directed lifelong learners.

  • Each student is a valued individual with unique physical, social, emotional, and intellectual needs.

  • Students must not only demonstrate mastery of essential knowledge and skills, but also actively engage in problem-solving and produce high-quality work.

  • A student’s self-esteem is strengthened through positive relationships and mutual respect among students, staff, and the broader school community.

  • Schools should function as learning organizations that foster collaboration among all stakeholders as a community of learners.

  • All students can learn.

  • Exceptional students (e.g., special education, English language learners, gifted and talented students, etc.) require specialized services and resources to support their success.
